Use this form to register your interest to adopt a dog from our Pound or to apply to adopt a specific dog currently in our care.
Things to consider:
1. While every dog is given an extensive behavioural assessment before being placed up for adoption. Please be aware that this assessment is done within a Pound environment. The dog has not been assessed to ascertain how it is around other animals e.g. other dogs, pets or stock animals.
2. Taupo District Council can not guarantee, and accept no responsibility, for the dog's health status, vaccination status (this animal has not been assessed by a vet) or their condition, temperament or future behaviour.
3. Any information concerning the habits or past history of the animal (if known) is passed on by Taupo District Council to the adopter in good faith; however, Taupo District Council can not guarantee how the dog will react to different environments.
4. Dogs may not be adopted to any household where persons who have been disqualified from keeping animals reside.
